Prominent Figures and Town Opinion |
||
|
Among town, these are who people are talking about and their current opinions. Evan Randolph - The townspeople still love Mayor Evan who has manages to carry the town through one of its most catastrophic events to date. While he has not been seen socially very much, the people attribute this to his work on rebuilding the town center. J. Terrance Framingham - The incorruptable Territory Judge has always been held in high respect with the townspeople and has given no reason for this opinion to change. The townsfolk look forward to his return to try the case of the miner who attacked Miss Taylor. Michael Garrett - While still recovering from his recent attack, the people have a high respect for the Territory Representative/Home Town Man who returned to Maddock with Territory Aid. He has not been able to get out and about much, but overall the people speak well of the man who could have likely died trying to save that money from being robbed. Madeline Randolph - The Mayor's wife and mother to the heir apparent for the Quintan Ranch, Madeline continues to be one of the more prominent women in the town. It is no secret among the LAC that many believe to speak with the Mayor's wife on a matter is to speak with the Mayor himself. Maggie Kyle - Long term Maddock resident and wife to Territory Marshall Randall Kyle, Maggie is well regarded by all the townspeople of any class or trade. Most are quite simpathetic to the young woman's plight and very protective of the young woman, her husband being lost without a word. To speak ill of Maggie Kyle around this town is likely to earn you a harsh word and a harsher smack. Christopher Quintan - His efforts just after the fire were not entirely unnoticed, though many were too leary to take the man up on his offer of aid. Now the rumour that he has been overlooked by his father in leui of a Quintan grandchild has many opening a sympathetic heart to the man (as well as raising a lot of questions). No son should ever be overlooked by his father and given low opinion of Karl, the townsfolks are now willing to consider Christopher as a man who might be worthy of a second opinion, even if he is a Quintan. William Tucker - The townspeople are very pleased to have Marshal Tucker back in the area. It has become quite common place to see baskets of food sent over to the Sheriff's office, likely since they all have noticed that the Marshal has been hanging his hat at Miss Jenkins house. Still, with all his hard work and the history between those to, this indiscretion is something they have chosen to overlook. Jack Barron - Intrepid at first to accept the outsider, Sheriff Barron has been a prominent figure in trying to track down the cattle rustlers and has managed to gain positive favor with several of the local merchants. It is no secret however, that some are still holding their verdict on this man's tenure in office. Damien D'aray - The saloon owner has certainly made an impact for himself, first closing down the saloon in protest of the treatment of Letitia Taylor and then helping to avoid a miner riot by serving free drinks. Popular opinion of Damien D'aray is quite high at the moment, even those of a more morale nature have to admit that the saloon is driving the economy of the town and has also caused a decrease in lawlessness along Shady Lane. Letitia Taylor - The newcomer to Maddock is often on the lips of many people for one reason alone. Her recent attack by a trio of miners. Most folks are outraged that 'some of their own' would assault such a fine upstanding lady as Miss Taylor and therefore now go out of their way to make her feel well regarded. Jason Delaware Clysdon - The banker holds little popular opinion with the townsfolks who have little reason to trust the man who can only have money behind his motivations. Still, they are careful not to spread their distrust too loudly for fear of cutting their ties with the bank. As the primary lender in the town, Mr. Clysdon wields more clout then respect. Allister Winthrop - General opinion of the new Mining Company owner is at an all time low. The miners have formed the opinion that the man certainly does not know gold from copper.
