The elections finally came to a close and there was no one more surprised then Marshal William Tucker when the tallies came in and it was determined that he had in fact won the Mayor election.
Standing on his front porch well wait that would be Miss Wilona's front porch he bantered with the small gathered crowd in disbelief. Well there's no secret that Tucker's a well respected man in town, though it did come as a surprise that so many were willing to overlook the fact that he's currently living in the Widow Reardon's house, especially in light of the fact of her previous occupation. Perhaps that's why there's been a growing movement among the townsfolk to build a 'Mayor's House' close to town for the currently presiding Mayor to live in. Guess they can't blame Tucker for not living in the Boarding House, but shacking up with an ex-whore? No, that simply won't be tolerated much longer even if most folks recognize that the pair love each other, not that two stubborn mules will ever admit it.
The Taylor Hotel is finished and Miss Taylor held a private little Christmas affair, in attendance were Letitia, Elise, Damien, Rick, Thierry, Caitlin, Tucker and Juno. Juno? And just who is this mysterious lady and why was Tucker escorting her? Doctor Kei and Miss Gem made a quick appearance, but apparently didn't stay for dinner.
The LAC sponsored a New Years Dance just a few days later, which was widely attended by many townsfolk who were interested in hearing the big announcement on the election.
Now that the new Mayor is in place, all of Maddock will be waiting anxiously to see what becomes of Judge Framingham's proposal to elect a town council. Speculation abounds at the idea that perhaps the town council will elect a city marshal to take over some of the duties that Sheriff Barron has been doing, and of course who would comprise the town council if one were formed.
Certainly isn't likely to be Miss Wilona Jenkins, who has quietly started to admit to being actively involved in the new Gentleman's Club, which is opening soon. Though it was never a secret that she owned the land, Chance Jameson appeared to be the one handling all the business and construction. Just another potential scandal for the ex-saloon owner to get involved in, let's hope she doesn't tarnish the mayor!
