"You heard me.... They found him in his room, I heard. Died in the night." Theresa shook her head. "Nobody knows anything yet... though I guess he went quietly, if nobody woke up."
Mary Margaret still didn't believe it. "Him, dying in his sleep? I don't want to speak ill of the dead, but that's never what I expected."
Theresa shook her head again. "No, that's probably not what anyone expected. But something like that happened..."
"And they're questioning the mayor about it? And the rest of the family? They think.... they think maybe someone did something?"
Theresa shrugged. "I don't know what they think... but Karl Quintan is dead, so the law is interested. He is -- was -- an important man, after all."
