Two men were sitting on the saloon porch, lamenting how it got closed down nearly as soon as it started paouring drinks. While they're talking, one of the newcomers to Maddock walks by.
One man says to the other, "See that? He's that new feller, Rick. I hear tell that he's a barber."
His friend replies, "It's about time, Maddock's been without a barber an awful long time, and I'm getting sick of my wife's attempts to cut my hair."
The first man says, "Yep, I hear tell he gave the barber a shave, right in Miss Caroline's kitchen. And he's cut some folk's hair out there on her porch."
The second man laughs, "I hope you're not thinking about going over there, you don't have enough hair to be worth cutting."
