It wasn't the doctor that spread the rumor. But someone did. That Samantha Bargold Brandt gave birth to the fifth Brandt child (in seven years), one Miss Catherine Brandt, born at 2am May 24, 1877. The child and mother are doing wonderfully. (There might have been some comment on how easily Samantha seemed to give birth to babies, almost shameful in the ease of it -- not unlike her horses, in fact).
