The mayor an' his wife was there, that chinaman doctor too. Well, sho'nuff, his house done got robbed. An' what I heard is that he had all the Territorial relief money in it. Just arrived that day. Missa Randolph is sho gonna be powerful mad. At least th' man didn't up and die. Evan'll find a way ta git that money back or we's gonna be powerful hurtin' fo' a while. That Chinese doc's the one what saved 'im too. Guess he'd a died bleedin' if they hadn't heard the shots and come so quick.
