As if the one Chinese self-styled doctor isn't enough, there was another one on a recent Wednesday evening. In the late hours, another man, shorter than even Kei, was led to Kei's small tent in the churchyard by the doctor himself. Later, Kei emerged and returned with a fine-looking mare, dust and soot darkened to an indistinguishable color. Perhaps notably, the Chinese doctor did not stay with his guest, but the mare stayed the night outside the tent. Kei's guest emerged, saddled the horse and rode away in the wee hours of the morning. Apparently the doctor has become a hostel for wayward men of his own ilk.
