Hurdy Gurdy Girls

"I just don't see how you can pack up and leave me here alone." The older woman frets openly, watching the couple tie down their meager belongings on the old buckboard. "Rachel, you said that you would be stayin' on and rebuilding. George, you said you'd help me rebuild my barn."

It is a silent moment as Rachel regards her friend and apologizes silently, it is George who speaks up.

"Listen here, my wife is due to have our first child come spring. I ain't bringing up a child in this town. Have you seen what has stepped off the stage coach lately?!?"

George returns to securing the last truck, "Now, it was one thing when the girls were at the Saloon, but now their strolling through town in the most indecent outfits. And I honestly cannot say these women have a single bobby pin between the whole lot of them." He shakes his head in disgust. "Naw, it's obvious this town is going straight to hell in the blazes that consumed it."
