Post Office

Years of dust tracked in from the street outside defeat even the industrious efforts of the U.S. Postal employees in keeping the shine and finish of the wood floor graciously intact. Large windows on both side walls let in the bright light and highlight the trodden floor, particularly the paths that lead to the two teller booths. With a high counter and thick glass separating these two booths from the rest of the room, the teller's section seems a world of its own; the wire machine clacks away industriously, letters hang in mailbags from hooks, and large mysterious trunks line the back walls. One small door leads to the back room of the post office. It is known to be normally kept locked. The best exit is the entrance.
