Ann Garbeau

Standing about 5'3, being noticably by dress and fine-cut features, female, Annie's best feature is likely her thick mane of sorrel hair, matching dark eyebrows that lighten the grey of Annie's large eyes. If she were a horse, Annie'd be a mustang -- lean and lanky and with that expression and poise that suggests she's been around long enough to know better, and she's quite aware of her own capabilities. No refined blue-blood is Annie, nor is she one of the heavier drafts -- What's there is efficient for the job, without being particularly flashy or memorable. It's the spark of animation that sets Annie apart. She's easy with a smile, showing even white teeth. She's often overheard speaking in a pleasant contralto voice. Nothing snazzy or memorable to look at, besides being female, Annie can be easily overseen in a crowd. She wears a utilitarian overdress over a lightweight shift, the pair being more than respectable, yet allowing Ann a certain freedom of movement. Comfortable footwear sits on her feet.

Ann's Background

IC information, obvious: Short-desc: 5'3, 30s(?), reddish-brown medium-length hair, grey eyes, trim figure, with much attention given to personal appearance. Faint freckles. Arrival: Ann arrived after the fire, and though her first story was that she was a widow, with her husband having been killed by Indians, Ann was forced to change that when, in fact, a husband bearing a different name showed up. She has, however, apparently decided to stay in town, purchasing a lot north of Maddock with the intention of putting in a bathhouse. The man she claims is her husband does not seem to share her room at the Boardinghouse, and some rumours suggest that there's old or new conflict between the two. // OOC information -- Please do not allow your character to 'know' this unless you've specifically cleared it with me. I'd love to run into 'past associates', though how much they'd remember of Annie is arguable: Annie has spent the last fifteen or years in and around the Southwestern boom towns of Mexico, Arizona and New Mexico, working first in the capacity of a Hurdy-Gurdy girl, and then finally becoming a Demimonde. Like most Painted Ladies, who are considered 'Old-Timers' if they are attached to the same brothel for a long period of time, Annie traveled a circuit through the lower territories to continue at her work. Her name was Ann Marie Mason, nicknamed 'Bricklayer'.
